This time, let me introduce to you the Tech Lead Tomi Tavela.
What have you been working on lately?
Together with the rest of the team, I’ve been working on a modern version of our Intranet product. I’ve also planned and developed our next-level mobile app. Prioritizing and organizing our development work is something I do every day. So is studying and testing new Office 365 capabilities. And cleaning up unused resources from my Azure subscription. :)
What did you do before Valo?
First of all, I have quite a long history with Valo, working with the product since its very first version (back in 2011). Before that, I worked on different Intranet and website projects with Finnish customers.
What do you most like about your work?
Creativity, and using latest technologies. In the Valo product development, I really enjoy the fact that we have a mobile development track, in addition to the cutting-edge SharePoint and Office 365 development we do.
Of course, the awesome technical solutions wouldn’t mean much to me without my great teammates. I also love to collaborate with our partners around the world. They have lots of interesting customer projects ongoing, and we are mutually learning from each other all the time.
I get my extra kicks from speaking publicly in conferences.
How do you spend your free time?
Most of my free time I spend hanging around with my two lovely boys, exploring the world and teaching them how to live life. When I have some moments for myself, I spend them bowling, enjoying the nature at the cottage, and of course coding (i.e. enhancing my SP Editor).
