Congratulations to our Valo Intranet customer University Health for two Honorable Mentions in Ragan’s Employee Communications Awards Class of 2021.
University Health was given an Honorable Mention in the “Intranet Launch or Relaunch” category.
It was also given an Honorable Mention in the Grand Prize: “Best Overall Intranet” category.
At a time when employee communications have never been more important, University Health’s comms teams were tasked with not only helping staff transition to remote work – but providing constant updates and messages around COVID-19, which at the beginning, was on an hourly basis.
Director of Internal Communications Sherrie Voss Matthews rose to the occasion and remained focused and calm in the crisis.

Valo Intranet the “go-to” resource for news during Covid-19
University Health launched its new Valo Intranet “infoNET” at the start of the Covid-crisis in March 2020, which quickly became the go-to source of information and news.
Staff used the new platform for all Covid-related updates as well as for clinical guidelines and procedures. infoNET proved to be an essential resource at a time when the information was changing daily.
Having Valo Intranet up and running during Covid-19 was invaluable. It really became our universal source of truth, with the most up-to-date information on it. It quickly was the go-to resource and a place to find the latest news and documents that changed frequently.
Valo Intranet boosted staff morale during the crisis
The intranet became a lifeline for not only urgent updates around clinical guidelines but for boosting staff morale too.
Here’s some of the feedback they received:
